When you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.

I began my professional career as a music teacher in 2001 but almost immediately found myself drawn back to school to become a therapist. I knew from the first week of classes in graduate school that I’d made the right decision and I never looked back.  I’ve worked as a clinician since graduating in 2005. In addition to owning my own private practice since 2011, my previous internship and job experience includes group counseling and individual crisis counseling at a rape and sexual abuse center, social work with elders and immigrants at the St. Thomas Interprofessional Center, family and individual psychotherapy and case management at a child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric hospital unit, directing the women’s student services center and providing academic advising at an urban university, and psychotherapy at a small college counseling center.

In sessions I convey a warm sense of relational attunement with my clients, I believe deeply in the possibility for healing, growth and change, and I am genuinely curious about people and what lies beneath the surface. My style is nonjudgmental and laidback, and I like to think I’ve got a decent sense of humor about life. I've always believed the best therapists are good at what they do because it's a natural extension of who they are at their core, and I can’t imagine doing anything else with my professional life. I wholeheartedly love the work I do and feel fortunate to be a part of so many peoples' journeys toward fulfillment and a deeper self-understanding.

Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.
